Jellyfish Fun!

So I thought I was done doing art projects this summer, but as it turns out I am not done just yet. This past week was water week, which was good since it was extremely hot this week!  So we did a lot of ocean activities.
On Monday, the girls and I were searching Pinterest for an activity for when I opened on Friday. We found the cutest little jellyfish. Best part, it was so simple to make and we had all the needed supplies!
All we needed was a styrofoam bowl, ribbon, glue dots (or tape), and permanent markers (we also put smocks on because of the permanent markers). We loved our cute jellyfish creations!!! And so did everyone walking into our room :)
Here is an example of our jellyfish! We hung them from the ceiling to display them.

Happy 4th of July!

So I know it's a little early, but happy Fourth of July!  My kids this week have been so excited about the fourth and fireworks and the parade.
We've been talking about it all week!  Today we made these adorable little red white and blue star creatures. Thank you Pinterest! I added a little bit of flair to mine and used bulletin board stars to add a little something special to our plain construction paper.
I took some pictures of our cute little guys.
This little guy looks pretty happy!
This little guy looks a little sad or worried.
Here is my cute little example!
I am so happy with how these turned out!! We punched holes in the top and hung them all in the room.

Summer fun

So I figured I might as well add my summer job to my blog since I'm working at the school I student taught at.

It has definitely been interesting. The new director starts Monday so I'm excited to work with her for a couple of weeks before leaving. It will be nice to pass on some of the responsibility to her.

Last week we did handprint art. We made a strawberry, a jellyfish, a goldfish, and the American flag. They all look so cute!  And the kids loved making them. Even my 10 year old liked doing the handprint. That's how I know it was a good project.

These are a couple of the pictures. Aren't they just adorable!!

We recently just had our first official field trips. We walked to the park earlier in the summer but that just didn't seem like an official field trip. We took them to a bigger playground with all of these fun things to do in Port Washington. The kids definitely had a good time. Today was our first trip to the pool. It went incredibly well. Nothing really went wrong and the kids spent the afternoon splashing around. Tomorrow is our last day this week and my last full time day. I'm excited and sad at the same time for my full weeks to come to an end. But I am looking forward to the move and getting excited about that.
